December: On The Fly
Youth Company members gather at an Off-Broadway theater to create On The Fly, an impromptu performance of original works-in progress. In just three hours, students write, rehearse and stage a dynamic evening of theater drawn from the work they have done in the first half of the year. The resulting showcase is the YC's first full performance on stage and is free and open to the public.

February: Winter Play
Each year, Playwriting Lab members write a full-length play that addresses issues related to the complex challenges of being a teenager in New York City. In the winter, and over the February school break, Acting Lab members rehearse the play, which is then presented for multiple performances.

April: UnCensored
An exhilarating evening of original monologues, scenes, music, and ensemble pieces, UnCensored is a celebration of the work developed in Acting Lab over the year. Actors write and rehearse the show during April vacation in preparation for multiple performances at an Off-Broadway theater.

August: The FreshPlay Festival
The FreshPlay Festival is a collection of one-act plays written by members of the Playwriting Lab and selected for production by a panel of MCC Theater's Literary and Education staff and professional directors and playwrights. The YC playwrights work side by side with seasoned directors, designers, dramaturges, and actors to bring their plays to life on stage.
