THE VILLAGE BIKE
by Penelope Skinner
directed by Sam Gold

with Greta Gerwig
Becky is pregnant—and friskier than ever. But she can’t seem to get the attention of her husband, who is preoccupied with preparing for the baby’s months-away arrival. So Becky takes matters into her own hands and sets out on an adventure that starts with the purchase of a used bike from a man in town and takes her further than she ever expected she’d go.

A provocative and darkly comic look at fantasy and desire, The Village Bike by Penelope Skinner premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 2011, where it enjoyed a sold-out, twice-extended run. MCC’s new production will be under the direction of Sam Gold (Fun Home, The Realistic Joneses). Golden Globe-nominee Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha, Lola Versus) makes her New York stage debut as Becky in The Village Bike.

SMALL ENGINE REPAIR
by John Pollono
directed by Jo Bonney
with Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, John Pollono, James Ransone

Former high school buddies Frank, Swaino and Packie—now past their prime—meet off-hours one night in Frank’s out-of-the-way repair shop under cloudy circumstances that only Frank seems to have a handle on. Enter Chad, a plugged-in preppy college jock, whose arrival ignites a long-simmering resentment that sets this taut, twisty, comic thriller on its breathless course.

Playwright John Pollono will reprise his acclaimed performance from the play’s world premiere production at L.A.’s Rogue Machine Theater. The cast also includes Keegan Allen ("Pretty Little Liars"), James Badge Dale (HBO's "The Pacific," World War Z), and James Ransone ("Generation Kill," "The Wire").

Small Engine Repair contains strong sexual content and adult situations. May not be appropriate for those under 17.

HAND TO GOD
by Robert Askins
directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel
with Steven Boyer

The good children of Cypress, Texas are taught to obey the Bible in order to evade Satan’s hand. But when students at the Christian Puppet Ministry put those teachings into practice, one devout young man’s puppet takes on a shocking personality that no one could have expected. In this hilarious and lightning-paced comedy, a foul-mouthed sock puppet named Tyrone soon teaches those around him that the urges that can drive a person to give in to their darkest desires fit like a glove.

Sold out and critically acclaimed at Ensemble Studio Theatre in 2011/2012, Hand to God makes its Off-Broadway debut at MCC Theater.
