Internships
MCC Theater interns gain a broad perspective on the day-to-day work environment of a busy Off-Broadway theater, as well as a detailed understanding of how their specific deprtment operates. We do our best to work with our interns, to develop their individutal strengths and to give them interesting work that will help them grow. Part time and full time internships are available to college students and recent college graduates in the following departments:
General Management interns will work closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to help facilitate financial records, process production contracts, implement special projects, do research, aid in writing correspondence and other duties in and out of the office.
Marketing/Design interns will assist the Director of Marketing and Marketing Associate with duties including press/marketing research, subscriber correspondence, viral and grassroots marketing efforts, website administration, and various design projects (ads, posters, email blasts) suited to the individual's skills. Quark, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Excel experience a plus.
Development interns will work closely with the Director of Development and Development Associate on a variety of projects that support MCC Theater’s fundraising efforts including the management of the Patron Program, the execution of opening night parties, and the planning of MCC’s annual gala fundraiser.
Education & Outreach interns will assist in coordinating MCC’s arts in education programs, including in-school theater education residencies and the MCC Theater Youth Company. Interns can expect to work hands-on with programming in both in-school and after-school realms, while learning about both the practice and philosophy of arts education. Experience working with teenagers is a plus.
Executive Director's Office interns will support administrative work in the ED office. Intern will work on special projects related to long-range planning, and will be part of the support team for MCC’s annual gala, Miscast, and other projects related to both marketing and development. Excellent computer skills, including excel, are required.
