MCC Theater’s annual Miscast gala is one of the most exciting and unique theater events in town. Broadway’s hottest stars perform songs from roles in which they would never be cast. And the results are thrilling!
This year’s Miscast is hosted by Lewis Black, with musical direction by Phil Reno.

Each year, hundreds of guests and sponsors gather for this singular evening of cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions, and, of course, the one-of-a-kind revue at the heart of the event.

Funds raised from Miscast help MCC Theater produce some of the most talked-about new
work Off-Broadway and support our Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, as well as our literary development work with emerging playwrights.
Last year, Miscast 2011 celebrated MCC’s 25th Anniversary season and honored a collection of MCC Theater alumni for the daring, risk-taking spirit they bring to the playmaking process including: Charles Busch, Norbert Leo Butz, Kathleen Chalfant, T.R. Knight, Swoosie Kurtz, Neil LaBute, Melissa Leo, Judith Light, Joe Mantello, Amanda Peet, Liev Schreiber and Marisa Tomei. The evening was hosted by Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen.
